Cinema and Education

I think that the most important thing of the cinema is the power of the images so I think that teachs about how to make films is a really important task. There are many teachers of cinema and one of the most admires is Alicia Vega.

Alicia Vega is teacher and researcher especiallist in cinema. She was born in Santiago in 1931, she  study cinema at the Filmic Intitute of the Catolic University of Chile. She makes some investigation bound the cinema industry in Chile, but her vocacion always was make workshops for kids in social risk. She makes some investigations like “Re-visión del cine chileno” (1979), “Itinerario del cine documental chileno 1900-1990” (2006). This works are made with a lot of autory and great labor. Her ideology about social transformation based in eductation, made she carry about the filmic and creative education for about 6 thousend kids in twelve years. I like her because she is a person with a professional formation, but she puts herself in front a hostile context for make the life of others better, with the tools that she and the people who teach have. The work of Alicia is honest and without another pretention more than being a conntribution to the creativity and expresion for others.
